Whitney Manger is an accomplished children’s book art director with over two decades of design and editorial experience. She launched her career 25 years ago in the editorial department at HarperCollins Children's Books where she developed titles for all ages, notably working with Walter Dean Myers and supporting the Shel Silverstein publishing program.
Seeking a return to her roots as a visual creator, she transitioned to design, holding positions at prominent publishers including Disney-Hyperion. Most recently she was Art Director at Pixel + Ink, an imprint of Holiday House, and Design Director at UNSQ Kids.
Whitney has had the good fortune of collaborating with many renowned creators, such as Ryan Higgins, Antoinette Portis, Renata Liwska, Faith Ringgold, Bryan Collier, Brian Pinkney, Charise Mericle Harper, and Christopher Myers. Currently, she assists with literary events and curation at Children’s Book World near Philadelphia. Across all her roles, she has continued to be astounded by the power of literature to spark imagination and help children feel seen and understood.
Tapping into her background in design and editorial, Whitney brings a holistic understanding of the publishing process to her work as an agent. As a practicing painter, she has an intuitive sensitivity to the sacred process of creating and to an artist’s drive to connect with the world through expression and a sense of wonder. She partners insightfully with illustrators and authors to nurture their ideas, shape their projects, and help their stories reach the readers who will treasure them. She is especially captivated by the relationship between words and art and to the visual narrative that gives a book its unique identity and emotional resonance.

Catherine Onder brings a keen editorial eye and a strategic sensibility to her approach as an agent, shaped by years of developing authors and illustrators and building publishing programs from the inside. She works closely with clients, combining creative instinct with a clear sense of how projects can grow and succeed out in the world.
That perspective is grounded in a long career in children’s publishing, where she paired editorial vision with senior-level leadership experience. Catherine began as an editor, collaborating closely with authors and illustrators across a range of genres, and went on to hold positions of increasing scope, culminating in SVP, Publisher of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Children’s Books. There she oversaw a broad, dynamic list and guided its growth and evolution.
Her work spans beloved franchises, breakout series and graphic novels, and award-winning literary fiction. She edited Sarah J. Maas during the A Court of Thorns and Roses series’ development, helping establish her as a global publishing phenomenon. Catherine also played key roles in several other New York Times bestselling projects, including acquiring Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein, expanding the Little Blue Truck franchise, and building a graphic novel list that featured the Click series by Kayla Miller. She also acquired and edited We Are Not Free by Traci Chee, a National Book Award finalist and recipient of both Printz and Walter Honors.
As an agent, Catherine is drawn to projects with a strong creative core and the potential for lasting impact, and she is committed to championing both the books and the long-term careers of the authors and illustrators she represents.
